Community Crisis Response Program

What is it?

On site assistance is provided by crisis counsellors immediately following a disaster or crisis that has impacted an entire community.

How it works

Community Crisis Response

The crisis response team arrives at the scene to assist victims with a variety of practical matters and emotional de-escalation. The team will assist with:

  • › safety of the community victims
  • › provide debriefing sessions for groups
  • › coordinate access to medical care or necessary services
  • › facilitate relocation of community residents

Community Trauma Response

A team of experienced crisis counsellors will facilitate a community meeting to address the emotional and psychological impact of a disaster or crisis. This debriefing service usually occurs within the first three days of an incident and provides community members with different coping strategies and a forum to address their grief and share their concerns.
