Give or Facilitate a “Gift–in–Kind”

You can make a difference by providing gift certificates, products or services to grace our Silent Auction Tables at our Annual Chief of Police Gala and our Annual Victim Services Toronto Silent Auction. Your gifts-in-kind help us to raise important funds, and many auction items are tax receiptable.

We welcome vouchers for family, adventure and romantic get-aways and vacations; sport, entertainment and theatre tickets; VIP event/Behind the scene passes, gift baskets, memberships, dining certificates, fine jewellery, spa passes, etc.

Hold a Fundraiser on our Behalf

Ask your employer and/or your company Employee Group to add Victim Services Toronto to their charitable giving support list. Hold a special event such as a BBQ, tournament or art sale with proceeds directed Victim Services Toronto. If you already do a charitable special event, consider splitting the proceeds with our most worthwhile agency. Every bit helps!

Molson Coors increased their support to our agency at the Dave Dunmore Tournament by adding a 'Pitch-off' to the September 17, 2010 opening ceremonies. By hitting all '3' crowns set up at home plate, Victim Services Toronto received $6,000!

Each year 43 Division holds a Charity Hockey Tournament with proceeds going to a different local charity. Victim Services Toronto is grateful to be the recipient of monies raised from the 4th Annual Tournament held on February 23, 2011 at Canlan Ice sports. The one day round robin style tournament raised $3,389.30 and at the end of the day, Scotiabank won over Highland Creek Collision by a score of 4-2. Our sincere appreciation to organizer Detective Daniel Dion and everyone who participated.

Establish a Fund

Do you have a special birthday, anniversary or retirement celebration coming up? Are you looking for a way to tribute or memorialize someone? Consider establishing a Fund with Victim Services Toronto. There is no cost and it’s easy to do. Ask your guests to make a charitable donation to your Fund in lieu of gifts and/or flowers. We are also happy to help you create a personal Fund letter asking your family/friends/associates for their special support. Phil and Dorothy BarnoffWhen Phil and Dorothy Barnoff celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary, they asked family, friends and guests attending their 50th Anniversary Celebration to make a donation to Victim Services Toronto in lieu of gifts or flowers.

The impact of their thoughtfulness coupled with the generous response of their family and friends resulted in $2,284.00 raised in their honour on behalf of victims of crime and sudden tragedies. You too, can make an incredible difference in the same way. Please consider establishing a fund to celebrate life's special moments and/or to memorialize a loved one.

Make a Planned Gift

The heart of planned giving is people! People who wish to reflect a sense of community; to benefit others for years to come; to make a difference in this world; and to create a lasting testimony.

There are a number of ways that you can leave a legacy, and make an important contribution to Victim Services Toronto assisting individuals, families and entire communities for years to come!. And by making a planned gift, you can also enjoy the recognition during your life while receiving significant tax benefits both during your lifetime and after.

The Volunteer Program is critical to the ongoing success of the agency. Without the dedication, commitment and hard work of community volunteers, the Victim Services Program of Toronto would be unable to fulfill its mission and mandate.

For only $15 a year (that's less than the cost of three lattes) you can become a member of Victim Services Toronto and help make a real difference in the lives of others.

As a member in good standing you have a first hand opportunity to help improve our programs and services. You will witness how our programs benefit the community around you and become an advocate for the organization.

Helps victims of crime and/or sudden tragedies

Provides immediate crisis intervention/trauma counseling, assessment, referrals, linkages and advocacy services

Operates case management programs focused on domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking

Restores, rebuilds and enhances victims quality of life

Provides programs that educate and prevent re-victimization

Conducts community education

Supports our many individual, family and community initiatives (especially directed to those at-risk)

Operates in close partnership with, but separate from, the Toronto Police Service
