SupportLink Program
What is it?
The goal of SupportLink is to prevent re-victimization of individuals 18 years or older, who may be at risk of danger from an ex-partner, acquaintance, neighbour, colleague, family member, friend, or an unknown person. This would include:
- › Stalking (Criminal Harassment)
- › Sexual assault
- › Domestic Violence
The program provides a free 911 linked wireless phone as well as comprehensive safety planning.
How it works
The SupportLink Coordinator works with victims and their dependents to assist victims in regaining and enhancing their quality of life by:
- › assessing risk factors
- › creating and implementing comprehensive personal safety plans
- › developing individualized service plans
- › coordinating and providing linkages to appropriate community resources and services
- › providing ongoing monitoring and follow-up
- › providing a 9-1-1 linked cell phone

Eligibility Requirements:
- › Have reasonable grounds to believe they are at risk
- › Must be 18 years or older
- › They do not already have a wireless phone
- › Have reported or are prepared to report the situation to police
- › Are not living with the accused
- › Willing to follow all existing protective orders
- › Willing to work with the SupportLink coordinator to develop a safety plan
- › Willing to maintain contact with the coordinator and accept the terms of the usage agreement
