Bonnie Levine
Executive Director
Bonnie Levine has been working in her role as Executive Director of Victim Services Toronto since January 2005. Bonnie has twenty-five years experience in strategic planning, program development, human resources management, fundraising and financial management.
Prior to joining Victim Services Toronto, Bonnie was the Executive Director of Toronto East Counselling and Support Service, a community mental health agency. Working in a variety of community and hospital settings throughout the course of her career, Bonnie has extensive experience and expertise in designing, implementing and managing innovative programs and services with many diverse communities and vulnerable groups.
An active volunteer, Bonnie has served on a number of committees and Boards of Directors. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors for Alternatives, East York Counselling and Mental Health Agency.
Bonnie holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University, and has earned certificates in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Mediation and Crisis Intervention.
Bobbie McMurrich
Director of Programs
Bobbie started her career at Victim Services Toronto in 1991, one year after the 24/7 Crisis Response Program was expanded from 5 to 10 Crisis Counsellors.
After a brief time as a Relief Crisis Counsellor, Bobbie worked for 11 years as a full-time Crisis Counsellor. She loved the front line trauma response work but was ready to pursue an administrative/supervisory role within the agency. Bobbie was promoted to Volunteer Co-ordinator and 8 months later was promoted to Director of Programs. She brings a host of expertise to the agency.
Sarah Rogers
Manager of Volunteer Resources
Manager of Project T.E.A.R. (Teens Ending Abusive Relationships)
Manager of Volunteer Resources and T.E.A.R. Coordinator, Sarah Rogers has been with Victim Services Toronto since September 2005. She received her Honours BA in Sociology and minor in History from McMaster University in 2002 and received her SSW diploma from Seneca College in 2006.
Sarah Rogers began her career with Victim Services Toronto as a placement student in Sept 2005. Upon the completion of her SSW diploma and student placement she was hired as a crisis counsellor. While working as a crisis counsellor Sarah assisted in the development of the Teens Ending Abusive Relationship (T.E.A.R.) project, an essential early intervention, education and assistance program provided to youth in Toronto neighbourhoods. In January 2010 Victim Services Toronto received a grant from the Ministry of Community Safety & Correctional Services as a result, Sarah became the full-time T.E.A.R. Coordinator as well, two part-time T.E.A.R. presenters were hired. Since 2007, over 240 T.E.A.R. presentations have been delivered to over 18,000 students throughout Toronto.
Sarah sought out to take on new challenges and expand upon her skills and became the Manager of Volunteer Resources in June 2010. Sarah is responsible for the recruitment, screening, training and management of over 100 volunteers and 4-5 placement students. Sarah continues to assist in coordinating the T.E.A.R. project along side the part-time T.E.A.R. Coordinator and part-time T.E.A.R. presenter. Sarah looks forward to the continuation of her exciting career with Victim Services Toronto.
Lindsay Upton
Manager Major Cases/Victim Quick Response Program (VQRP)
Lindsay Upton has been working in her role as Manager of Major Crime Case Coordination and Rapid Aid Response with Victim Services Toronto since June 2007. Responsible for providing timely emergency financial aid and case management to victims of violent crime, Lindsay's extensive experience in crisis intervention and assisting diverse communities and vulnerable groups is a welcome addition to the agency.
Lindsay holds a Social Work degree from Ryerson University, is an active volunteer, and has served on numerous committees within the agency.
