- › 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
- › Immediate on-site crisis and trauma services
- › Crisis intervention/trauma counselling
- › Assistance with urgent and practical matters
- › Locating, arranging and linking to other services and resources
- › Advocacy
- › Follow-up and counselling
The steps
- › Upon arrival, crisis team provides immediate counselling and emotional support
- › Team then assesses victim’s most urgent needs
- › Team provides information and practical assistance with most urgent needs
- › Once the initial contact and assessment is completed, follow up services begin

Follow up services can include, but are not limited to:
- › re-assessment
- › determining short and long-term counselling needs
- › locating and linking victim with other appropriate sources of help
- › help with funeral arrangements, contacting out-of-town relatives, finding shelter, assistance with children, etc.
