24/7 Victim Crisis Response

Individual, Family and Community (Short Term Intervention)

Our main and largest program provides immediate on-site crisis and trauma services to victims of crime or sudden tragic events, and offers short-term victim after-care until immediate needs are addressed.

Services include:

  • Immediate needs assessment including safety and other practical matters
  • Assistance in implementing an immediate plan of action
  • Brief trauma counseling
  • Referral or linkage to community services for assistance with ongoing needs
  • Follow-up calls to provide referrals, additional support, encouragement and re- assessment of needs

Assistance is provided to the victim of the crime and their family members. Victims under the age of 16 require parent/guardian consent to receive Victim Services assistance. Witnesses are also eligible to receive assistance from this program.

In the event of a community disaster or crisis (such as an explosion at a strip mall, a fire in a group home, a homicide at a school or the workplace) our Community Crisis Response Team(s) promptly proceed to the site to assist victims with a variety of practical matters.
