A dynamic and rewarding experience

Over 100 volunteers donate their time and expertise to the Victim Services Program of Toronto. Join our team of dedicated volunteers who support all aspects of our programs and operations. You’ll have excellent training, evaluation, and recognition for your contributions. You’ll be paired with a trained crisis counsellor and work directly with victims. This is a volunteer experience where you can have a direct impact on someone’s life.

• › Translating skills -- knowledge of another language and cultural sensitivities
• › A life experience you’ve overcome that you can relate to a victim’s situation

Process of becomming a volunteer:

• › Orientation meeting to learn about the programs
• › One-on-one interview
• › Security check, personal reference check*
• › 30-hour training program on roles and responsibilities
• › On-the-job continuous training

You must be 19 years or older to volunteer

* Victim Services is located in the same building as Toronto Police Service Headquarters. We have access to non-public areas and share some technology and services. As a result, everyone who volunteers at Victim Services must successfully complete a Toronto Police Service Background Check.
